HIGHLY recommended for ladies with PCOS/hirsutism!
Pros: Cheap, close shave with minimal stubble, not overly irritating to the skin, no facial redness, works well to “spot correct” missed shaving spotsCons: Still a shave (not full hair removal from the root like a wax), some stubble, doesn’t last as long as a waxAll right, ladies! Let’s talk about female facial hair.I’m not talking about cute, little peach fuzz. I’m talking dark, coarse, pubescent-teenage-boy-beard hair. But on a 20-something-year-old woman. As someone diagnosed with PCOS, part of the way my symptoms manifest is through hirsutism, or thick, dark hair on my face and neck. Prior to quarantine, I scheduled regular full face waxes every 3 weeks. (I really probably could have done them more frequently, but I’m not made of money…) If I let it go any longer than that, the beard and mustache got embarrassingly ridiculous.(For those of you ladies who can rock the natural look, you’re my heroes! I am not that secure in my femininity.)Flash forward to everything closing in quarantine. Without the option to get a wax but the necessity of showing my face in video calls, I ordered these facial trimmers, and I am IN LOVE. I can get an incredibly close shave (that feels almost as smooth as after a wax) for a FRACTION of the price. Plus, I can shave on my own time as often as needed, without having to schedule a wax somewhere else. I do need to do a trim every few days, but it’s super quick and easy to maintain! Some tips for using this product for bodacious, bearded ladies:- Shave in the shower. I don’t use a mirror, but I find shaving under running water helps speed the process and reduce irritation. I tried shaving dry once, and it hurt. If you miss a spot, you can always wet a small area at the sink and correct later!- Shave in all directions. Up, down, across. I find this helps get that smooth, almost post-wax feel. You will still have some stubble (it’s a razor, duh), but it can be super minimal. Be sure to be gentle with your strokes, though; it is a blade on your face.- Aftercare. After my shower, I dab the shaved areas with Witch Hazel on a cotton pad, and then I apply an unscented post-shave balm (designed for men’s faces, so I assume it’s good for mine). I wait a little while and then continue my skincare/makeup routine as normal. Remember that shaving your face physically exfoliates the skin in addition to removing hair, so care for your skin accordingly. I don’t have particularly sensitive skin, but this product hasn’t caused irritation for me. (Other than the time I shaved dry. Just don’t do it.)Finding these trimmers has literally saved me around $100/month. I was skeptical that shaving my face would work anywhere near as well as a wax, but I’m glad I was forced to prove myself wrong. I usually use my trimmer 2-3 times a week and replace it every 4th or 5th use. Store it in a clean, dry place (i.e., NOT on the side of your tub/shower) to prevent bacteria buildup. The packaging recommends these for eyebrow trimming, but I don’t trust myself not to shave off half my eyebrow accidentally. I will definitely be getting a brow wax once things reopen; I’m leaving that to the professionals. I may still get a full face wax every once in a while, but this product helps me maintain a smooth face for a fraction of the cost, plus I don’t have any post-wax redness/irritation.I also use one of these to “spot correct” any spots I miss when shaving my legs, etc. I just dampen the area with water and use the trimmer, and it works great! Be careful on the back of your knees, though; the one time I cut myself was trimming a spot I missed on the back of my knee.TL;DR: I highly recommend this for women dealing with PCOS/hirsutism. It won’t last as long as a wax, but you can get almost as smooth of a removal for a price you can’t beat!

Works
This works fine. You do have to replace quickly. The second time using was not as good as the first. But they are inexpensive so not a big deal. Way cheaper than going and having the small hairs removed and feels more feminine than just shaving.

Great for the price but can’t use them too many times before they get rusted or aren’t sharp anymore.

The best!
For a long time I was buying those expensive blade refills and I felt like they were really dulled quickly. So I decided to try these and I’m so glad I did!!!! They come so much sharper, and stay sharp for quite awhile. You should definitely try these out.

Easy to use
I just use this product for the first time. I had never dermaplaned my face before, but found this extremely easy to use. I managed to avoid any cuts, but I did use this with a facial oil. I did see results with the product. I saw hair and skin on the razor after I used it, but I am not sure how sharp the actual blade was. I will continue to use the product and see what kind of results I get. Overall, it was a nice product for my first time trying to shave my face! I was certainly a bit nervous.

Pretty good
Sharp but it lacks the ability to trim facial hair fully. Youll have to press hard and trim in different directions. Be aware the edges are very sharp and can cut skin easily

Super sharp
I love exfoliating and shaping my eyebrows. They are nice and sharp and as long as you know what you’re doing by keeping them angled without harsh pressure they will work beautifully. I use them every few weeks and my skin is so soft and loves it’s skincare afterward. I definitely recommend.

Great tools
I’ve used these for a few years now. They’re very sharp so use them VERY lightly on your face. I find they’re good for about 3 uses each (I clean the blade with rubbing alcohol after each use and wash my face before I use the blade). My only complaint is that the very tip of the blade is very sharp and pointed (as opposed to slightly rounded like other brands) which means I have to be extra careful when using it on curved areas like under my eyebrows, in front of my ears and the corners of my nose.

Sharp and Effective
I recently tried out the Schick Hydro Silk Touch-Up Dermaplaning Tool with Precision Cover, and overall, I’m quite pleased with my experience.First off, I appreciate the inclusion of the precision cover, as safety is always a concern when using sharp tools. However, I found that the precision cover didn’t work as well for me as advertised. Despite this, I still think it’s a nice feature to have for added protection, especially considering how sharp the tool is.Speaking of sharpness, that’s one thing this tool definitely has going for it. The blade is sharp and precise, making it effective for removing unwanted facial hair and exfoliating the skin. I also found it easy to maneuver and control, which is important when working on delicate areas of the face.Additionally, I like the design of the tool. It’s compact and portable, making it convenient to throw in my bag for touch-ups on the go. Plus, it’s easy to clean and maintain, which is always a plus.Overall, despite the precision cover not working perfectly for me, I still think the Schick Hydro Silk Touch-Up Dermaplaning Tool is a great product. It’s sharp, effective, and convenient, making it a handy tool to have in my beauty arsenal.

they are ok
I was using the tinkle brand for years, but tried this one and cut a 1″ slice into my face, which I never did with the other razors. I’d say just be super careful. I’ll be going back to the other brand which never nicked my skin.

Use strictly for eyebrows and extraneous hair removal
I leave the dermaplaning to the pros, but with small, gentle strokes, eyebrow shaping and lip/chin hair removal is thorough and doesn’t break skin like a traditional disposable razor does.

Practice the technique
If you had asked me, before I used this, if I had hair on my face I would have told you no. I am 40, and a daily makeup wearer with a magnifying mirror, but I just never noticed it. I bought these because my dry, sensitive skin tends to break out if I don’t exfoliate, and heard that dermaplaning was a great way to exfoliate. As I started the dermaplaning process, I couldn’t believe ALL THE PEACH FUZZ that piled up from just a small area. It was really shocking! Then, after feeling how soft my skin felt and how smooth my makeup went on afterward- I’m now hooked. I now look forward to it because it’s so satisfying.I’ve upgraded to a clinical dermaplaner at this point, which is basically a scalpel, but I DON’T recommend doing that until you get the hang of using these- they’re much safer, which is why I recommend these ones specifically. They also stay sharper, longer than other brands I have tried.I see a lot of pictures of scratches and cuts, which are mostly used error (but that’s okay, it just takes a bit of practice!). When the razor gets dull it can skip and cut as well, so I usually only use it 2-3 times before tossing it.Don’t use it like how you shave your legs, it’s a completely different technique than you use to shave anywhere else on your body. As a matter of fact, it’s the exact opposite of how you shave anywhere else. You don’t use it how you see guys shave their face, either.Tips:1. Wash your face like usual and let it FULLY dry. No moisturizer or anything else. You want dry and smooth.2. Hold the razor at a 45 degree angle to your face and very lightly, make tiny strokes in a downward direction. By tiny strokes, I mean maybe just a 1/4 of an inch before moving it back up and down another 1/4 inch. You know, it’s a similar hand motion to brushing your teeth, now that I think of it.3. Start on the side of your cheek below the temple, in the “sideburns” area, as this is the most forgiving.4. The tighter your skin, the better, so I often use my left hand to give the skin a little tug from one side to flatten out any wrinkles (like on my forehead) or anywhere else the razor might grab if it’s not tight, because that’s what can make the razor skip and cut you.Look up videos on YouTube of “dermaplaning” and that will help much more than my description.Your skin might be a little angry afterward, so do it at night to give it a chance to calm down. I use witch hazel on a cotton ball as a toner and a Cetaphil moisturizer before bed, and by the next morning there is no redness left. Any other serums tend to burn, so I take the night off from those.Good luck!

Best tool
The razor just glide smoothly on your skin. So much so that I took half my eyebrows off. The price is exceptional for the equality you get. I have tried some razors that you could find at Ross or TJ Maxx and those have always scratched up my face. This one I have purchased again and again and have never done that.

Shave your face easily in minutes!!!
I’m a hairy gal. Hormonal problems ruled out by my physician, it’s just hereditary. My cheeks, neck, forehead, and chin are covered in a fine ever-growing peach-fuzz. If I cease shaving, I shall acquire a boat and thus forth be dubbed blonde beard. My mustache is darker and thicker, something I think a lot of women experience.I have been shaving for a while with a men’s razor (Gillette Fusion ProGlide for reference) and shaving cream but it just couldn’t give me a close enough shave. ENTER SCHICK SILK TOUCH-UP! Holy Wow! I’ve been dry shaving my entire face and some of my neck with these and no irritation plus it is the closest shave I have gotten. No pulling or scraping like other “mini-razors”. It’s quicker than doing what I call a “dad shave” in the shower and I can see what I’m shaving because I’m at my makeup table and there’s no shaving cream obstructing my view (I don’t want to accidentally hack off the hair by my ears or forehead). Plus, I compared this to other (what I call) mini-razors and it’s twice the size (picture for reference, the pink one furthest to the right is this product)!! Obviously I’m not new to the hair removal game. So very efficient for doing your whole face, easy for detailing those brows. There was a bit of skin buildup after scraping (it’s called exfoliating, it’s good for you because…it is) at my face but just wash off with soap and water and let air dry completely before you put a cap back on. I like to use a toner and moisturizer after shaving because I think that’s what you should do after exfoliating. At the end of the day, everyone’s skin is very different. While I experienced no irritation, some reviewers suggest that using these wet or with cream works better. So you should probably patch test to see what works for your skin and don’t scream at me if this doesn’t solve your problems, make you rich, and give you puppies.I love this product and hope that they sell it forever. It works on my peach fuzz, mustache, and brows. If I ever get word that they are going to stop making them, I will hoard them all.

Smooth
I’ve tried many brands and I find this one to be the most efficient. I would like everyone to know that in my experience, they are a one and done. Other brands I was able to get more than one use. But I will opt for these in the future since they are sharper and smoother than the others. It comes down to preference.

Great for lining your beards
This thing doesn’t need an another review but why not. Great tool, much easier to use at home than handling straight edge razor. It does have a bit of ‘point’ at the very tip so be careful especially around the area under your stash/nose region. Nice angle so you can rest the ‘head’ as you line up you beard.Should have bought this years ago and ditched the straight edge razor. Of course, if you are barber you might be going though a lot more of these than refill blades. But for home use, these are great.Ladies, it’s still is a razor and not a derma roller so go eazy on your face.

This is AMAZING!!
I saw my dermatologist recently for ingrown hairs on my chin, which have left hyperpigmentation. I started getting the fine hairs about 3 years ago, and over the years and tweezing, the hairs became thicker, with scarring. He told me to discontinue the use of the tweezer immediately, and shave instead. He said there are several razors he could recommend, but he wanted me to find the one that works best for me – the one that I am most comfortable with. This order was my fourth order, and I almost gave up. Out of the four purchased, if I had to rate my satisfaction – the first two were simply garbage – the third needed several passes so I give it 2 out of 10, but this one – 10/10 with no regrets at all. I spent several hours reading and watching videos and came across this – I first looked at the reviews, and was extremely impressed. I thought to myself – >192,000 reviewers can’t be wrong, can they?? Though there was still a tinge of skepticism, I somehow felt good about this purchase. Using just a few drops of aloe vera and facial oil – I used the product, and these words came out of my mouth: oh my god, oh my god, it works, it works – thank you so much!!! My doc was right – I had to find the right one for me. I did, and I remain thankful. I followed the instructions, and had no issues – I will continue to buy these!!

Gets rid of my facial hair
I have pcos and have had to shave small patches on my face for years, I bought these and use them every couple days and if I do it well my face is really soft and smooth the first day. I have to do several passes to get this result but that’s fine, it’s way better than a razor. It works wet and dry. Be careful when you first start using it though because I gave myself several small cuts while I was testing it out.I used it to slit my eyebrow as well but I don’t think it works very good if you want a small slit.

I would say they do a decent job – but probably don’t want to use more than a few times each – they do start to rust on the metal. I use about once a week.

I was new to dermaplaning so I was skeptical but this product was simple and affordable. It was worth it. I couldn’t believe how smooth my skin was after. I also have very sensitive skin and was surprised to not have any irritations. Would recommend this to anyone wanting to change or add to their routine.

Great product, poor packaging.
The product arrived as described and the blades themselves were not broken or chipped but what was disappointing was the broken faulty packaging the product comes in itself. This isn’t the fault of the shipper but rather the manufacturer. The flimsy plastic container Schick uses to package this product gets crushed and breaks apart. I ordered two and noticed the beginning stages of cracked clear plastic breaking away and the shipper place the item in a plastic bag to compensate for this. Otherwise the product works as described but be careful when using this. The very top, the tip of the blade can draw blood. I found this works best if you can avoid rubbing that part on your skin. Works great for peach fuzz on the arms.
